President Joe Biden on Monday released a statement in support of his son Hunter as jury selection is beginning in the younger Biden’s federal gun trial in Delaware.
In September 2023, a federal grand jury indicted the 54-year-old first son on three felony firearm offenses.

The indictment alleges that Hunter Biden lied to federally licensed firearms dealer when purchasing a revolver in 2018, claiming that he was not an unlawful user of narcotics or other controlled substances.
Hunter is accused of knowingly making a false statement to the dealer to obtain the firearm, and possessed the firearm for a period of 11 days while using narcotics. Biden allegedly later abandoned the firearm in a trashcan outside a public school.
“I am the President, but I am also a Dad. Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today,” the elder Biden said of his embattled son Hunter.
“Hunter’s resilience in the face of adversity and the strength he has brought to his recovery are inspiring to us,” Biden said, making reference to his son’s struggle with addiction to illegal substances. “A lot of families have loved ones who have overcome addiction and know what we mean.”
“As the President, I don’t and won’t comment on pending federal cases, but as a Dad, I have boundless love for my son, confidence in him, and respect for his strength,” Biden added. “Our family has been through a lot together, and Jill and I are going to continue to be there for Hunter and our family with our love and support.”
Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which come with a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison if he is convicted.
The federal trial in Delaware begins this week, and jury selection could last until Wednesday, while the trial is estimated to last about two weeks, the Washington Post reported Monday.
Politico recently reported that the topic of Hunter Biden’s criminal trial is a touchy subject in the White House, with Biden’s aides fearing the “weight” the trial could place on the president during an already difficult time for him politically.
President Biden also expressed fears over the possibility his son could serve time in prison.
“He worries about Hunter every single day, from the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to sleep,” one advisor told Politico in May. “That will only pick up during a trial.”

What???!! No comments about how “no one is above the law”? Unless, of course, it’s crackhead Hunter whose tax evasion case was buried by the US Attorneys until the statute of limitations had run.

One crook worrying about another crook. I’d say the big crooks parenting skills were lacking. He spent more time working towards gaining power than being a parent and wound up raising a brat..
