Disgraced torture apologist and serial liar John Brennan, who previously served as CIA Director during several of the Agency’s high-profile controversies and intelligence failures, was scheduled to speak in the mostly liberal coastal town of Damariscotta on Monday.
However, 24 hours before Brennan was going to share his thoughts on “global challenges” with Mainers who ponied up $75 for a ticket to hear him speak, Brennan’s team terminated the event.

The Maine Wire reached out to the Carpenter’s Boat Shop, which was set to host the event and benefit from some of the money raised through ticket sales, to inquire about the reason for the cancellation.
The shop’s director cited only “security concerns” as the reason, without elaborating, and said the shop was given no further explanation from Brennan’s team.
The cancellation came after members of the public had written letters and spoken out against Brennan’s appearance, although people familiar with the matter did not believe that their peaceful criticisms and letters to the editors of local newspapers caused the cancellation.
Grassroots protesters were responsible, though, for the event being moved earlier this month from where it was originally set to be held, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Newcastle, after they questioned the propriety of someone with Brennan’s bloody track record holding court in a house of God.
Several members of the parish wrote letters to express their outrage over Brennan’s address, and the event was relocated to the nearby Lincoln Theater.
Despite Brennan’s history of support for torture and ethically questionable drone strikes, he has been regarded as a positive figure by many liberals since he began promoting misinformation and conspiracy theories about former Republican President Donald Trump.
The former CIA head’s embrace of fringe and false narratives, as well as his rabid partisan activism, has received a mainstream platform thanks to eager hosts on left-wing corporate television networks like MSNBC and CNN.
Apparently, Brennan’s disdain for Trump allowed the left-leaning media companies and personalities to set aside the former spy chief alleged perjury, his support for inhumane and ineffective torture techniques, his authorization of drone strikes that killed civilian non-combatants, and his role in spying on members of the U.S. Senate who were investigating the Agency’s use of torture.
Brennan’s lengthy history in the CIA began in 1980, but he eventually rose to public prominence during the Obama Administration, where he was considered for CIA director during President Barack Obama’s first term but was rejected after being accused of involvement in “enhanced interrogation techniques,” more commonly known as torture.
He was eventually appointed to the position during President Obama’s second term, following a confirmation hearing in which he denounced torture and denied that he had ever supported it or had any involvement with it.
That was seemingly false, and a 2007 interview revealed that Brennan had at least supported the practice, even if no evidence of his direct involvement has ever come to light.
“There have been a lot of information that has come out from these interrogation procedures that the agency has in fact used against the real hard-core terrorists. It has saved lives. And let’s not forget, these are hardened terrorists who have been responsible for 9/11, who have shown no remorse at all for the deaths of 3,000 innocents,” said Brennan during a 2007 Interview with CBS.
Critics of torture as an interrogation tactic have long argued that it is not only inhumane, but also unreliable, because sufficiently unbearable physical torture can lead individuals to say anything, regardless of its veracity.
Brennan has also been linked with Obama-era drone strikes, which reportedly led to the deaths of at least 342 civilians, in at least one case leading to the death of an American citizen.
Famously, the Obama administration killed Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, a 16-year-old U.S. citizen, with a drone strike. While some officials claimed that al-Awlaki was collateral damage, Brennan defended the strike by claiming that he was a legitimate military target, despite the lack of any legal authorization for the extra-judicial killing.
Brennan was also a defender of “extraordinary rendition,” the state-sponsored kidnapping of suspected terrorists, who are then brought to another country — to a so-called “black site” — in an attempt to circumvent laws surrounding due process, torture, and prisoners’ rights.
“I think it’s an absolutely vital tool. I have been intimately familiar now over the past decade with the cases of rendition that the U.S. Government has been involved in. And I can say without a doubt that it ha. been very successful as far as producing intelligence that has saved lives,” said Brennan
In many cases, extraordinary rendition was used to transport someone so that they could be tortured for information.
The practice resulted in the abduction of Canadian citizen Maher Arar in 2002 from the U.S., where he was illegally transported to Syria and tortured by Syrian personnel for nearly a year before it was revealed that he had no connection whatsoever to terrorism.
Even the liberal New York Times acknowledged that Brennan was complicit in war crimes in an article titled “By Nominating John Brennan, Obama Is Ignoring War Crimes.”
The mainstream reporting on Brennan has shifted drastically since he became an outspoken critic of Trump and Republican Members of Congress.
Since then, left-wing media outlets have published reams of positive articles on the man, rarely questioning his credibility or honesty despite his documented history of misleading the public.
Even the New York Times, the same newspaper that once cast Brennan as a war criminal, celebrated him for “stepping out of the shadows” to rail against Trump and defend his own “legacy.”
The Democratic Party and left-wing media’s embrace of Brennan began shortly after he started vehemently, even belligerently, claiming that Trump and his presidential campaign had conspired with Russia to illegally influence the 2016 election, a claim that was later disproved.
Even Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who was appointed largely at the urging of Congressional Democrats to scour the globe for evidence of Trump’s “collusion” with the Kremlin, failed to produce any evidence to back claims made by Brennan and others.
During a congressional hearing, Brennan allegedly perjured himself when he falsely denied having any knowledge about the Steele Dossier, which accused Trump of collusion with Russia.
He never faced any charges for his apparent perjury.
Brennan was also involved in an attempt by more than two dozen Intelligence Community operatives to interfere in the 2020 election and promote censorship of news stories damaging to then-candidate Joe Biden.
He was one of the now-infamous 51 signatories on a letter that falsely claimed Hunter Biden’s laptop was actually part of a Russian misinformation campaign. Subsequent reporting has revealed that long-time Biden ally Antony Blinken, who would later become Biden’s Secretary of State, orchestrated the drafting of the misleading letter and played a key role in recruiting the signatories.
Brennan’s egregious sins against the American people do not end with supporting the assassination of an American minor, speaking in favor of torture and state-sponsored kidnapping, allegedly perjuring himself, and lying to influence the 2020 election.
He also gave a ringing endorsement to Dr. Anthony Fauci, the architect of COVID-19 lockdown policies and the chief source of misinformation about the efficacy of the mRNA therapeutics marketed as immunizations.
“Dr. Fauci is a national hero who will be remembered for generations to come for his innate goodness & many contributions to public health,” said Brennan.
“In 2011, he [Brennan] called for the FBI to eliminate its “offensive” curriculum/training materials which made reference to jihad and radical Islam.” Brennan also claimed that, “Jihad is a holy struggle.” Debunked by Snopes (so it’s probably true) was Brennan’s conversion to Islam while stationed in Saudi Arabia.
It’s not surprising that some progressive schmuck in Damariscotta invited him to speak and people were willing to cough up $75. in that town to listen. I’d suggest staying as far away from Carpenter’s Boat Shop as possible since the owner invited this reprobate to speak there or you might come away thinking Islam is a “religion of peace”.
Good .
Damariscotta can go hang up a few more Ukrainian flags and lobster buoys .
Do some more virtue signaling
Trump haters go get your flags .
We don’t need him around anyhow .
BEST News we have heard in a while !
Brennan oughta be in prison along with a bunch more from the Criminal Intelligence Agency, as well as those who hired him. Maybe even a little torture just so he gets a feel for what it’s like.
They probably didn’t meet the minimum ticket sales requirements.
“Even the liberal New York Times acknowledged that Brennan was complicit in war crimes in an article titled “By Nominating John Brennan, Obama Is Ignoring War Crimes.”
Very interesting-Oboma and Brennan!!!
Is that why Oboma still living in DC.?
Good. The man is criminal scum and belongs in Gitmo.
Anyone who has read Cathy O’Briens book TRANS Formation will soon find out what a monster John Brennan was and still is. She names many people before a Senate Committee but it was all buried because of national security. Which means the abuse, rape, murders, selling of adrenochrome continued thru even today of children, women as well as men with Congress knowing but doing nothing to stop it – BECAUSE they were/are all compromised and are complicit in this horror. Pray President Trump lives to continue to take them all down with the help of God.
I’d happily pay $75 never to hear another American Marxist speak again.
