Three on One is ABC Fun: The second presidential debate of 2023 took place, this time featuring Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate. The debate was universally panned across social media for ABC’s heavy-handed and one-sided moderation, including questionable “fact-checking” and lopsided interruptions. There’s no question Vice President Harris overperformed expectations, while Trump failed to get his message out as effectively as in the last debate.
Here are some clips the Maine Wire caught last night:
Meanwhile, in life under the Biden-Harris Administration… The U.S. Army sounded the alarm on a growing Venezuelan gang presence across the country. Investigative journalist James O’Keefe uncovered U.S. Army documents revealing that as many as 400 members of Venezuela’s largest gang, Tren de Aragua (TdA), have infiltrated New York City and were authorized to fire upon U.S. officials.
TdA is a brutal Venezuelan street gang that Americans have become familiar with, thanks to the unprecedented waves of illegal immigration in recent years. The gang has reportedly taken over an entire apartment complex in Colorado and a hotel in Texas. O’Keefe suggested that NY National Guardsmen are being deployed out of concern over the gang’s growing presence in NYC. This adds to other mounting concerns over transnational organized crime, fueled by the open southern border, from California to Maine.
The Pine Tree Pulse
The Maine Wire has the latest on the mysterious death of Zhiwei “Jerry” Xiao in Washington County. Xiao was found dead in Cobscook Bay State Park in June, in what is being ruled a suicide. Xiao, a Kentucky resident originally from China, was found dead in his car, with a handgun in hand and a gunshot wound to his head. The death has been ruled a suicide, but many questions remain. Other firearms, along with two suppressors, were also discovered in the car. Police have offered no explanation of why a heavily armed Kentucky resident would drive over 1,000 miles just to shoot himself in Maine. Officials do not believe any foul play was involved, but the circumstances surrounding the death remain extremely suspicious.
In other news from The Maine Wire, Portland is forcing a local landlord to deal with the hazardous waste left on public property behind his building by homeless drug users. The city believes that the hazardous waste, including used syringes, is the property owner’s responsibility and threatened him with unspecified enforcement action if he failed to comply. The city ignored the drug users who created the mess.
Maine has had worst-in-the-nation childcare programs for years, and WGME has the latest development in that sad saga. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is now suing the state of Maine over violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act for its treatment of children with “behavioral health” problems. The DOJ accused Maine of unnecessarily separating those children from their families.

The Bangor Daily News has an update on the atrocities committed at Lee Residential Care, where employees physically, sexually, and verbally abused disabled adult residents. This included various forms of torture, such as waterboarding, perpetrated by multiple employees targeting multiple residents, but focusing on one non-verbal and mentally disabled man. The atrocities went on for three years. One perpetrator pled guilty but faces only a measly five years in prison, with two and a half of those years suspended. He will spend less time in prison than he spent torturing and sexually abusing mentally disabled patients in his care.

Just like no answers about the missing shooter in Saco. Or the turn pike car crash. Janet is not doing a thing but is it part of the plan?
