Former President Donald Trump (R) has ruled out a second debate against Vice President Kamala Harris (D).
Two days after the candidates faced off in a debate hosted by ABC News and moderated by David Muir and Linsey Davis, former President Trump (R) announced on social media platform Truth Social that “THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!”
Shortly thereafter, he confirmed his decision to not debate Vice President Harris again this election cycle in an interview with the New York Post.
Vice President Harris responded to former President Trump’s decision during an event in North Carolina, saying that they, as candidates, “owe” voters another debate because “what is at stake could not be more important.”
“Two nights ago, Donald Trump and I had our first debate,” Harris wrote Thursday on X. “We owe it to the voters to have another debate.”
In his post to Truth Social, Trump indicated his belief that Harris was only interested in debating him again because she lost Tuesday night.
“When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, ‘I WANT A REMATCH,'” he wrote. “Polls clearly show that I won the Debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate, on Tuesday night, and she immediately called for a Second Debate.”
“She and Crooked Joe have destroyed our Country, with millions of criminals and mentally deranged people pouring into the USA, totally unchecked and unvetted, and with Inflation bankrupting our Middle Class,” Trump continued. “Everyone knows this, and all of the other problems caused by Kamala and Joe – It was discussed in great detail during the First Debate with Joe, and the Second Debate with Comrade Harris.”
In an exclusive interview with the New York Post, Trump expanded on these remarks, saying that he “just [doesn’t] think that there’s any need for [another debate],” explicitly clarifying that “there’s no debate on the 25th” and “nothing has been arranged.”
“We’ve done two,” he said. “You know, one against Biden [on June 27], one against Comrade Kamala. I did well. I did really well.”
“The debate polls, every single poll, had us winning it,” Trump added.
The former president went on to suggest that Harris “had the questions,” calling the anchors who hosted Tuesday’s debate “a disgrace to American journalism.”
“You saw the way that was done, that was ridiculous,” he said.
Trump had previously proposed three debates against Harris, one hosted by Fox News on September 4, the September 10th ABC debate, and one hosted by NBC on September 25.
After Harris refused to participate in the September 4th debate, Trump instead took part in a town hall put on by Fox News and hosted by Sean Hannity.
“She was a no-show at the Fox Debate, and refused to do NBC & CBS,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “KAMALA SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE DURING THE LAST ALMOST FOUR YEAR PERIOD.”
Trump’s vice presidential pick Ohio Senator J.D. Vance is scheduled to face off against Harris’ running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz in an October 1 debate hosted by CBS at 9pm.
Good. The less I see of Comrade Kamala, the better. The Dems couldn’t win an election without cheating and she couldn’t win a debate without help from ABC and their heavily biased moderators.
Why would Trump choose to debate the lying Kamala Harris…in addition to the debate moderator(s)?
Trump – NO MAS
Let us not forget the people feeding her answers through her ear piece. The two most telling moments during the debate were when the cackling kamel was seen laughing in the background about the crime rate caused by illegal immigrants and the hardship on most families caused by her and Joe’s inflation rate. I’m glad she finds it so very amusing.
As Trump is claiming he won the debate by a landside why is he making excuses about it? If you won you won. The claims Trump made in Las Vagas are proof he knows that he had his hat handed to him by a black woman. Just like those posts about conspiracy theories below.
