Four people were arrested on drug trafficking charges after authorities found over $200,000 worth of fentanyl and methamphetamine inside of a home in Aroostook County on Tuesday, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency announced.
The search and subsequent arrests came as the result of a months-long investigation into suspected drug trafficking at the home at 1057 Van Buren Rd. in Caswell.
Caswell is a small town north of Caribou that sits on Aroostook County’s border with New Brunswick, Canada.
According to the MDEA, agents found over two pounds of fentanyl, over a pound of methamphetamine, and over $19,000 cash in suspected drug proceeds during their search of the Van Buren Road home.
MDEA estimated the total street value of the seized drugs at over $200,000.
Arrested was 47-year-old Andrew McHatten of Caswell, 27-year-old Whilo Recio of Mattapan, Mass., 28-year-old Ramon Recio of Boston, Mass., and 35-year-old Diomedes Del Rosario Cotreras, a citizen of the Dominican Republic.
The four suspects were each charged with unlawful trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine, and were transported to the Aroostook County Jail where their bail was set at $15,000 cash each.
What happens to the confiscated cash?
We use to vacation in the DR but stopped when it got too dangerous. Now I’m thinking in a few years we may be able to return since all the third world scum the liberals invited will be here. Thanks janet.
DR people in Caswell, red flags flying right there, should have and sign
‘arrest me’ out front
Take the drugs away, Milles and you will have a riot in Northern Maine
Seriously 3 MUD MONKEYS in Caswell and no one thought that odd ? Neighborhood Watch should have cured that problem forever .
