Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey (D) promised on MSNBC on Wednesday that she would not allow the Massachusetts State Police to assist President Donald Trump in deporting immigrants in the U.S. illegally.

“If the Trump administration requests it, would the Massachusetts state police assist in mass deportations,” asked MSNBC.
“No, absolutely not,” said Gov. Healey. “Every tool in the toolbox has to be used to protect our citizens, protect our residents, protect our states, and certainly to hold the line for democracy and the rule of law.”
Healey quickly faced criticism from opponents calling her a hypocrite for refusing to aid the federal government in deporting illegal immigrants, despite her past statements blaming the federal government for the immigration crisis.
“What is most striking about the Governor’s recent statement is the glaring hypocrisy: she has blamed the federal government for the migrant crisis in Massachusetts, yet now that we have a newly elected President ready to address the immigration crisis with action, she is backtracking,” said MassGOP Chairwoman Amy Carnevale speaking to the Boston Herald.
Just one day after Healy’s comments, President Trump reaffirmed his belief that the mass deportation of millions of people in the U.S. is imperative for the good of the nation.
“It’s not a question of a price tag. It’s not — really, we have no choice. When people have killed and murdered, when drug lords have destroyed countries, and now they’re going to go back to those countries because they’re not staying here. There is no price tag,” said Trump speaking to NBC.
Trump’s statement was a response to NBC asking about the proposed cost of a mass deportation plan.
Healey’s reaction to Trump’s election is especially noteworthy given the large number of illegal aliens ICE officials have arrested on sexual assault charges, including child sexual assault, within the Commonwealth.
In many of these cases, local police are forced to release illegal aliens accused of sex offenses rather than turning them over to ICE, which forces ICE to enter the community to detain the suspects under circumstances that pose great danger to both ICE officials and bystanders.
Maine’s Gov. Janet Mills has not yet weighed in on whether she would resist Trump’s efforts to deport people in her state who are there illegally. She has, however, promised to resist him on anything she believes will not benefit Mainers.
Like Massachusetts, Maine has long been a so-called “sanctuary state,” which typically means law enforcement are not allowed to inquire about the immigration statuses of individuals they encounter.
“If they do something that is bad for Maine people, I will oppose them with everything I have. This will once again be my approach to the President-elect,” said Gov Mills on Wednesday.
Mills has consistently supported immigrants, whether in Maine legally or illegally, and has even established an Office of New Americans (ONA).

The ONA was never voted on or approved by the legislature as distinct measure but was instead slipped into a larger budget bill at the end of the last legislative session.
The purpose of the office has been described as offering research and advisory opinions to state officials and other communities; however, in other states where ONAs have been implemented, the agencies have primarily assisted the federal government and nonprofit migrant resettlement agencies by making it easier for non-citizens to access numerous taxpayer-funded benefit programs.
there has been a lot of about the cost of deportation, what about what it cost to keep them. deport vs support
Send ‘em all to Massachusetts and Farmington Maine.

Who is she to speak for me.
That Maura Healy REALLY IS a Masshole !
If she wants them ( illegals ) she can have them .
Better YOU choke than the people of Maine .
We have better and more important things to spend our taxes for .
And
Keep it up Janet
Trumps gonna take one look at you and say “ Fund it Yourself “ because we aren’t going to waste our money on this immigrant shit anymore . All your non profit , NGOs are on YOUR tab now . Your sixty billion dollars worth of giveaways is now coming out of your purse , not mine .
When the money dries up these leeches will go away . Massachusetts maybe .
What will eventually happen is that thousands of illegal migrants will move to Massachusetts for protection. Unfortunately for us in Maine they will also congregate here due to our Democrat leaders laying out the welcome mat that we taxpayers are funding.
There was a time a few years ago when it was a rigorous process before Obama to migrate here.People were vetted and able to support themselves once they got here. It’s free everything now. What will happen when the free spigot is finally turned off?
What I am missing here is many have committed crimes against children, horrendous trauma that lasts a liftime and governments of blue states protect the criminal and not the victims???? A vote is worth more than a child? Makes me so sad to answer yes it is.
