Lewiston Police announced on Thursday that they have arrested a transient man for allegedly possessing child pornography.
Police arrested David Brower, 24, on Wednesday on an arrest warrant for the possession of sexually explicit material of a child under 12, a Class C felony that carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Police described Brower as “transient,” a designation that typically refers to someone with no permanent address or who is homeless.
The warrant came as the result of an investigation conducted by the Lewiston Police Department and the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit.
The investigation was launched after a referral was made to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a nonprofit organization established by Congress in 1984 that coordinates with law enforcement and other government agencies to investigate cases of missing children, child abduction and child sexual abuse.
Brower was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail and is being held on $5,000 bail.
Well, now he’s transient no more. Congratulations on acquiring a new home. LOSER!!!
